Woodcellar is a family owned business, which has been trading since the early 1970s. So we have plenty of experience and seen many changes in the furniture industry.
Woodcellar is renowned for it's quality New Zealand custom made furniture. Most of our business comes from word of mouth, return customers or people just walking by. When clients come into our showroom they see for them selves that we are quite unique, from other furniture stores. Our clients come to us with, maybe their drawings, or photo, or it could be just an idea. Then one of our qualified Craftsman will sit down with them and discuss the possibilities with them. A lot of what the retail stores are selling are standard items. We get comments all the time "I can't find what I want" or "the quality isn't out there". This is why they come to us.

Woodcellar also designs and makes, Dressers, Sideboards, Display units, Bookcases, Bedroom furniture, Tables & Chairs, Hall Tables, Coffee Tables and Entertainment units. We are using a variety of timbers, including American Oak, New Zealand Silver Beech, Rimu, Mahogany, Island Kauri amongst others.

One of Woodcellar’s Specialties is Entertainment units, especially for the new flat screen TV's. These we find are best designed around the equipment that the client has. Some people still have their old record players and need storage for them, some have VCR's, DVD's, and Sky. We have found that everyone's needs are different. This can all be taken into account, when designing an Entertainment unit. Mostly our furniture is custom made, however we do have a showroom.
