Tank Information
The following information is given as a guide only. All Uniclear tanks are handmade and therefore natural variation will be inevitable.
We recommend that holes for septic tanks are 4 meters by 2 meters wide.
We recommend that holes for water tanks are 4 meter square.
We recommend that all holes are laser leveled and tanks are bedded on at least 100mm of sand.

Tank Handling Instructions
TRANSPORTATION
All concrete tanks must be handled with care. We recommend that tanks are lifted by Hiab or crane, using the lifting eyes provided.
When moving a water tank it is important to use protective corners to prevent chains from damaging the tank roof.
It is vital that tanks should not be banged or dropped at any stage.
Advantex tanks must be moved with the single riser to the back of the trunk and the pod must be securely tied down.
All lids not screwed down need strapping down.
All tanks must be safely secured with appropriate certified chains and ties.
INSTALLATION REQUIREMENTS
Tanks must always be placed on a solid foundation with a bed of sand or fine aggregate of a similar grade, screeded to a minimum thickness of 100mm. A standard water tank can be set into the ground to within 60 mm of the top of the tank. If a water tank is to be fully buried a ‘flat top’ tank is required. These have a flat roof and additional central support column. A maximum of 300mm earth cover can be placed on the top. Septic tanks and treatment systems are designed to be buried to the depth of the risers, if you intend to bury deeper you must contact Uniclear Tanks.
TANKS CANNOT BE DRIVEN OVER.
TANK FILLING
A new tank should never be filled completely to the top in one step. This will cause stress cracks.
The recommended procedure is:
Fill approximately one third and leave for 5 days.
Fill another third and leave for another 5 days.
Top up tank.
(This allows for the reinforcing in the tank to expand gradually). We recommend your tank installer checks there is an overflow outlets.
Failure to comply with these tank handling directives will VOID the Tank Warranty, as it will cause undue stress on the tank and may cause it to fail. Any damage caused as a result will be corrected by Uniclear and charged in full.
