Will water blasting damage my paint?
Yes, if that is all you are doing. We use a mixture of cleaning agents including chemicals / citrus / detergents which break down algae, grime, dirt, etc. then soft wash your home with purpose built ($35,000/each) water blasters. Each water blast unit has special wide nozzles fitted on the end of the wands which allows the water to cascade in a soft fan shape. It's gentle enough to run your hand in front of the wand. We have clients whose homes are protected by the Historic Places Trust in both Remuera and Parnell and we clean their homes every year to keep them pristine. Imagine what we can do with your home!
Will the chemicals affect my plants, pets or me?
No. The chemical we use is also put in our drinking water to reduce algae (we both drink it already). The chemical is salt based and turns back to salt after about 8 hours in the sunlight. We promise to leave your plants in the same lovely condition we find them in. We have clients whose homes are on the Epsom & Albany garden trails and we clean their homes every year. FYI These garden trails are for garden enthusiast who visit each others large and beautiful gardens via tour bus every year.
Will my paint really last longer if I wash my home regularly?
Yes. But of course we are biased. So why don't you ask someone who isn't? Ring your local paint company and ask them. Most paint companies claim if you wash the paint on your home once a year you will increase the paints' life expectancy 20-25%. It's definitely cheaper to wash regularly than repaint!
Is it really better to clean my home in the winter?
Yes. Most people are unaware that if we clean a house after it has rained steadily for some time (i.e. in winter time) the rain and moisture soften the grime and dirt, which means we can provide an "extra soft wash" which is even gentler on paint. A bit like soaking a fry pan before washing it.
Can you really quote accurately over the phone?
Yes, 85% of the time we can provide an immediate telephone quote within $20 of the final price by asking a few questions. If you can tell us your homes' total square metreage/footage it will help us to be even more accurate. Our operator will confirm the price we have quoted you on the day we arrive to wash your home. If it's above the phone quoted price you have no obligation to proceed. If we don't believe we can accurately quote cleaning your home over the phone we will tell you and arrange to visit you.
When/how do I pay you?
Payment is made on completion of the work with either a cheque or credit card. If you are at work while we are cleaning your home (as the majority of our clients are) we will leave an invoice in your letter box. When you have had a chance to inspect the work we ask that you either post us a cheque or ring us with your credit card details.

Company Background
In November 1997 we (Mark & Leonie) decided to start a business of our own. Mark had worked for the previous 10 years in the computer industry whilst I (Leonie) had been busy bringing up their four children (and still am).
Using our last $700 to buy a rusty Datsun ute, we loaned money off Mark's family and purchased other much needed equipment. We decided to name our business "The HouseWash Company" and we chose to focus on the domestic market, wishing to become known as THE House Wash specialists. We then went forth to conquer the world of House Washing!
Initially Mark cleaned all the houses while I handled the paper work and client contact. As we grew and hired operators, we devised methods of keeping a consistent high quality of cleaning (apart from hiring the best people we could afford and training them up with our methods). We randomly survey our clients monthly and ask them to gauge the job we have completed for them. The operators are rewarded on the results of these surveys. Needles to say our operators are very interested to make sure our clients are indeed delighted!
A large part of our growth has come from referral work, i.e. clients who refer us to their friends, neighbours and work colleagues. In some streets we are cleaning every third house due to this word of mouth endorsement.
Five years, and over seven thousand house and window cleans later the business has grown to 12 staff with operators covering all of Auckland.
