Pauline Lattey - MDINZ
Professional Interior Designer
Pauline Lattey has been involved in the interior world since opening her own business in 1974. She says that at that time she felt that Interior Design had to be promoted as a 'natural extension to house building and renovating'. An idea that took a while to be accepted.
Pauline is a practising interior designer with a Diploma in Professional Interior Design, a certificate in Kitchen Design recognised by the NZKBA, and has served two years on the council of the Designers Institute of New Zealand.
She has been working in both residential and commercial for over 20 years.
Pauline enjoys the psychology of colour and has a passion for fabrics. Her interiors are as varied as the people she meets, but one of the things she believes is most important is quality and working with the client to achieve a result that is a delight to the client, rather than pushing trendy ideas. Budget is an important factor - but it is a little like the size of a room - what you do with it is what counts, not the size.
Although based in Taupo, she visits the Kapiti Coast, Wairarapa, Rangitikei, Southern Hawkes Bay regions, with frequent trips to Palmerston North, and the Manawatu, travelling further afield when required.
She has also done many commercial projects from the simplest office colour scheme to a large public institution's cafeteria.
Pauline gains great pleasure from her clients' enjoyment of the interiors she designs.
