Horses for Sale 

From time to time we sell trekking ponies and geldings that are surplus to requirements.  They will be advertised on this page as they become available. The prices range from $700 to $8,000.

Our ponies stay in work right up until they are paid for and they are sold on a first come first served basis. They are not available for lease or for a trial, as this takes them off the market and makes them unavailable to other potential customers. We have the varied terrain and the arena areas where you are free to try out a horse before you buy it, as many times as you want. If you are not confident about selecting a horse then please bring an experienced friend who can help you.

If any particular pony is of interest to you then we invite you to book in for a trek as a customer on that pony. You can do this as often as you like, and we will refund the cost of up to three treks if you purchase the pony. You are also welcome to spend some time in the arena or adjacent paddocks by arrangement.

We get a lot of enquiries for a bomb-proof pony for a learner child for no more than $1,000. Sorry, but the better the horse the more they are worth, and they don't get cheaper with age like a car. 

Rangi - $4,000
3yr old Stationbred gelding - green broken.  Solid built currently at 14.2hh, should mature to 15hh.  Also requires an affectionate hand to bring him along - Rangi will mature into a fantastic horse with jumping ability and should do well in any riding discipline.

Magic - $3,000
3yr old Stationbred gelding - green broken.  Could become a great jumper, as a yearling jumped 7 wire fences!  Requires an affectionate hand to bring him along - he's already come a long way in a short time - quick learner and is proving to be a gutsy horse.  Magic is currently 4.1hh and should mature to around 14.3hh.

Johnno - $3,000
8yr old Stationbred gelding - very solid build, friendly big guy and very low maintenance, is a good doer in all weather.  Johnno is 14.3hh and is a horse for the whole family.

Indy - $3,000
3yr old Stationbred gelding 14.2hh, should also mature to around 15hh.  Has been trekked by children and light adults for the past 4 months and doing well.

Hippo - $2,000
10yr old Kaimanawa gelding.  Solid and stocky at 13.1hh he’s a great low-maintenance pony.  Very cute little guy will make a great childs pony and mate - very affectionate.

Elmo - $3,000
2yr old Arab cob gelding - green broken.  This little guy is a natural, in the future would suit a child riding at pony club.  Elmo is a lovely looking pony at 13.2hh.

Kelly - $700
Kelly is a mare and at about 14.2hh she is noticably bigger than our other ponies. She would possibly suit an adult or older child. She has been trekking for several years.

Jazz - $5,000
Jazz is a purebed paloose gelding and about 13.1hh. He has been ridden on and off for several years and has been trekking as a guide horse for the last few months. He is wonderfully friendly and has been known to hang around the house and try to follow people indoors. Jazz looks like a dalmation and would be sure to attract attraction at pony club.

Rambo
Rambo is a gelding and has been trekking for several years. He is much larger than our other pones so would suit an adult or older child. He has a kind gentle nature in spite of his name.
