Kensington
Kensington Hospital is a Ministry of Health Certified two level development. The reception, administration, operating theatres and recovery rooms are located on the ground floor, with the inpatient suite (ward) location on the upper level.
The hospital has three operating theatres which are utilised for both inpatient and day case surgery:
-
Theatre One – at 7.5m x 6.5m – is large by today’s standards, and with a Laminar flow air control system has been specifically designed to provide an ideal environment for the large number of orthopaedic procedures (including joint replacements) which are undertaken at the facility.
-
Theatres Two and Three are slightly smaller than Theatre One, and are equipped with the more standard Hepa filter air control system.
The inpatient suite is located on the upper floor, and contains:
-
15 air-conditioned single in-patient rooms, each with a private ensuite. A communications pendant in each room houses a telephone, television (including Sky TV) and radio for each patient to use, thus ensuring patient stays are as enjoyable and relaxing as possible.
-
One 4-bed room. Although not having en suite facilities, the room does have individual communications pendants for each patient, thus ensuring individual access to telephone, television and radio.
The Inpatient suite has been designed to specifications of comfort, safety and quality. Meals are prepared on site and menu options taken into account the wide variations in patient requirements and preferences. The operating company’s philosophy is to utilize local resources wherever possible, accordingly all food supplies are sourced locally to ensure benefits of this development flow through to the local business community.
