Structure
BUILT FARM TOUGH
It’s easy to see why Zimmatic mechanical move irrigation systems have long been the industry benchmark for structural durability. From our thicker, heavier galvanized pipe to our deeper, wider “V-Jack” trusses, it’s no wonder many Zimmatic systems last up to 20 years or more.

Uni-knuckle span connector
A Zimmatic exclusive, this heavy-duty universal joint provides stress-free flexibility on slopes up to 30 percent. All components are mounted externally to eliminate flow restriction.

Split coupler
Also a Zimmatic exclusive, the split coupler encloses a durable, watertight connection. Should alignment problems occur, the coupler and boot are designed to rupture, creating a pressure drop that shuts down the system.

Truss rods
Forged-head rods in heavy, pocket-type brackets form a solid base from which to support each span.

Trusses
Zimmatic’s “V-Jack” truss design distributes the load evenly, providing superior support and added durability.

Crossed stabilizer angles
"X-type" bracing links each span with the next tower, absorbing the torsional stress often caused by uneven terrain.

Formed outlets
Zimmatic sprinkler outlets are automatically formed as an integral part of the pipeline, eliminating weld problems and ensuring precisely matched threads for a watertight seal. Formed outlets outperform welded outlets in both pull and torque tests.

Pipeline
Heavy-wall pipe is used to add strength and stability to each span. Zimmatic's standard 6 5/8 inch (16.4cm), 11-gauge pipe is 15 percent heavier than that used on competitive systems. Other available sizes include 5 9/16 inch (14.1cm), 8 inch (20.3cm) and 10 inch (25.4cm).

Pivot point
Sturdy legs of .375 inch (.95cm) deep-galvanised angle steel combine with .188 inch (.48cm) cross-members to form a solid anchor for even the longest system.

Tower
The four-legged tower structure mounts securely to the heavy-duty drive tube using an exclusive double-sided, welded brace. The tower legs are spread wide to securely cradle the pipeline while distributing the load over a greater area.
