Straight and Winder Stairs.

Straight Stairs

Straight flight stairs are less expensive and are frequently used in modestly priced homes and units. Steel balustrade is often used to minimise the cost, as timber can be more expensive to manufacture and install. Straight stair systems can be a combination of solid timber and customwood (MDF) for carpeting. Many home owners choose carpeted customwood stairs with steel and timber balusters to provide their own distinctively unique stair and balustrade system.

Straight Stairs - Closed Treads and Risers

Straight flights of stairs can be constructed up to 17 treads. They are fully assembled in our factory and ready to install on site. Straight flight stairs are available in robust customwood and a range of solid timbers. They are built to suit an intermediate landing or as one full flight of stairs to the next floor.

Straight Stairs - Cut Stringer

Another way to enhance a simple, straight stair is to have cut stringers.  A cut stringer on some stair designs can improve access to the stair.  The treads on a cut stringer stair can become a more attractive feature.

Winder Stairs

Although winder stairs are ideal for compact situations, they can make movement of furniture difficult. They can also be unsafe for young children. They have two to six treads on the turn to gain height over short distances. Triangular and kite shaped treads are used to create a turn in the stair.
